A Civil War is a battle between the same country. In the American Civil War two teams fought. The North and the South. The North was called the Union and the South was called the Confederacy. The war was fought over slavery. Although, at first the Union fought to keep the country together but then it became about slavery. The South believed slavery was right because they had more farms and needed slaves to do their work. However the North believed slavery was wrong and they didn't need slaves to work on their farms because they had more factories the North also believed it was wrong to treat a human like how the South treated slaves. The american civil war is the bloodiest war in history and took the the most lives ever. There were more deaths than both the world wars combined.
