The Battle Of AntietamOn September 17, 1862, The Union, led by General George B. McClellan attacked The Confederacy, led by General Robert E. Lee. This Battle took place by the Antietam Creek and the Potomac River which is outside Sharpsburg, Maryland. At the end of the day, 23,000 troops were either dead, wounded, or missing. Even though this was a one day battle, it sure was a huge victory for the Union soldiers!
